Solivagus is a solo atmospheric black metal project created in 2025 by Flávio Dourado, vocalist and songwriter from Manaus, Brazil. Blending melancholic melodies, harsh vocals, and immersive ambient textures, Solivagus explores themes of solitude and existential despair.
The project seeks to bridge the raw emotion of black metal with the haunting beauty of the natural world — a deeply personal reflection about isolation, resilience, and transcendence amidst the vastness of the Amazon. Solivagus draws its main influences from Elderwind, Grima, Summoning, and Dissection, while seeking to innovate by bringing Amazonian themes to the forefront of its sound and imagery.

Flávio Dourado, 27 years old, born in Manaus in Northern Brazil, is a veteran of the Amazonian extreme metal scene. He holds a postgraduate degree in Law and serves as a Navy officer. Former vocalist of the thrash/death metal band Carnívoro , he is also a writer with two published books. Solivagus represents his most introspective and personal artistic expression. He began his musical journey at the age of 14 with a death metal band called Devilish Quasar, which never released any recorded material. His primary influences during this formative period were Max Cavalera (ex-Sepultura) and Frank Mullen (Suffocation). With Carnívoro, he released the album Culto Pagão in 2019 and the double single Prepotente Criador in 2024, before leaving the band in August 2025.
